It all
began in 1996, the year a third generation Brazilian coffee
grower named Jose Vido bought his first "teensy" 5-pound
roaster, a just as tiny space in St. Paul's Midway, and
began putting his inherited knowledge to work. With a thirst
for quality and hand craftsmanship, Vido (he doesn't respond
to any other name) began brewing up his childhood memories
and creating one-of-a-kind blends, each unique to every
restaurant and café he supplied. With a great cup
of coffee and his ultra-Brazilian charm in tow (he's like
a South American Antonio Banderas...but don't tell him
that), Vido's client list began to percolate and percolate.
Ever since, we've continued
to supply the Mid-West with the finest coffee from the
best regions in the world. From Colombia to Kenya, our
coffee passes "The Vido Test," coming direct
from small, high quality farms, including Papa Vido's,
where the art of tradition is passed down from generation
to generation.
As a globally responsible
company, our coffee not only tastes good, it has a conscience.
Our coffees are certified organic, shade-grown, kosher,
and designated "Fair Trade" by the Rainforest
Alliance. Plus, we roast daily to order and package everything
in 100% recyclable tin cans. We're also a proud partner
of Trees For The Future, a non-profit organization that
helps restore the world's most degraded lands back into
the lush landscapes they once were.
MorningStar is a full-service
coffee company, supplying fine coffee, brewing equipment,
and accessories to bring an authentic international flavor
to the Mid-West.
